This 2014 research paper documented the anti fungal effects of Silver Nanoparticles.

"It was clearly demonstrated that although no dramatic damage to the fungal cells was observed, at least after the exposure time of 24 h, no cell viability was recorded. Another important result was to discover that the mode of action of AgNPs is to aggregate outside the fungal cells, releasing silver ions and thus inducing cell death through the reduction process resulting from the interaction of cell components with silver ions."
